Remedial Massage

What is Remedial Massage?

Remedial Massage is a deep tissue massage for efficient treatment of muscular imbalances and chronic conditions, and is designed to promote the body's own iStock 000013975058Smallhealing process. The mechanical treatment of pushing soft tissues to one side, removes blockages such as scar tissue, adhesions, 'knots' and damaged cells which speeds up the recovery of soft tissues, encouraging release in chronically shortened muscles.

Regular massage enables:

  • Minor injuries to be treated before they reduce performance.
  • Increase in blood supply to soft tissue. Lack of blood supply to the spine is a significant cause of long-term back pain.
  • Reduction in pain and minimizes chronic conditions initiated by lack of movement and/or incorrect use of muscles.

Remedial massage is suitable for most people (contraindications are always considered beforehand). Most conditions relating to soft tissues are treated - for example: arthritis, back pain, chronic illness, neck ache, old injuries, repetitive strain injury and carpal tunnel syndrome, road traffic accident, sports injuries, sprains, strains and post surgery.
